Journalists and bloggers from Israel and Poland are visiting the western Georgian region of Adjara to explore its Black Sea shores and mountainous areas before publishing articles on tourist attractions in the locality.
The Tourism Department of Adjara on Monday said the visiting media professionals had already visited the regional capital of Batumi, where they were hosted at the Botanical Garden and Dolphinarium in the city.
The guests also visited the historical monument of Petra Fortress on the shoreline, as well as mountainous parts of the region where they tasted local wine and cuisine, and were invited to view a folklore show.
They also explored Mtirala National Park as part of the promotional tour.
The Department also noted Adjara had hosted media and tourist industry professionals from Serbia, South Korea, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and the United Arab Emirates in tours organised by the body so far this year, with about 500 journalists, bloggers and tourism agency representatives discovering the seaside region.
