PM vows “greater support” for law enforcement in Police Day celebrations

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Wednesday pledged “greater support” for the country’s law enforcement in his Police Day speech. 

Addressing a special ceremony in Tbilisi dedicated to the date, the PM stressed appreciating the work of police professionals was the Government's “obligation and duty”. 

I want to assure you that the support and efforts of our Government will be further strengthened and will acquire even greater dimensions”, the official said, adding “you deserve all the best”. 

Recalling his time at the helm of the Interior Ministry between 2012-2013, the head of the Government highlighted he was “glad and happy” to reaffirm his “highest respect” to the country’s law enforcement on the day. 

In his speech, the PM also paid tribute to the police professionals who died while fulfilling their professional duties, and thanked families of law enforcement officers for backing their partners’ “very complicated work”.
