Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Wednesday joined the resolution on the Register of Damage caused by the Russian aggression against Ukraine, proposed at the Summits of Heads of State and Government of the Council of Europe.

In the framework of the event hosted in Reykjavik, 43 countries and the European Union joined or indicated their intention to join the Register set up by participants to the Summit.

“Support and solidarity with Ukraine is one of the main priorities of the Icelandic Presidency and we have worked hard to ensure that the outcome of the Reykjavik Summit addresses the need for comprehensive accountability for Russia’s aggression against Ukraine”, Prime Minister of Iceland Katrín Jakobsdóttir said.

CoE Secretary General Marija Pejčinović Burić called the move to set up the Register of Damage under the auspices of the Council a “historic decision”.
