Pawel Herczynski, the European Union Ambassador to Georgia, on Wednesday held the second round of his meetings with officials of the Georgian Parliament to review the process of the implementation of the European Union conditions for granting the country the membership candidate status.
Herczynski met Irakli Kovzanadze, the Chair of the Budget and Finance Committee, and Nino Tsilosani, the Chair of the Agrarian Issues Committee of the legislative body.
In her remarks following the meeting, Tsilosani noted the meeting had focused on activities of her Committee and gender equality matters, a part of the EU conditions.
A very positive meeting was held, and his [Herczynski’s] attitude towards Georgia in relation to the [EU membership candidate] status, in relation to this process as a whole, is very encouraging”, she said.
Herczynski began his meetings with committee chairs on Monday to discuss the implementation of the conditions, as well as Georgia's general approach to European standards and principles, and will conclude the meetings over the next two weeks.
