A public opinion poll published on Thursday by the Tbilisi-based Georgian Opinion Research Business International has put the approval rating of the ruling Georgian Dream party at 53 percent.
The survey marked one percent increase for the GD rating compared to GORBI’s 2022 December survey.
In comments on the survey, Iraki Kobakhidze, the head of the ruling Georgian Dream party, on Thursday highlighted it showed a decrease in the approval of UNM - the largest opposition party in the country - from 23 percent in the 2022 survey.
This means that the party is getting weaker and weaker year-by-year”, Kobakhidze said.
Organised between April 22-May 7 across the country, except for its occupied Abkhazia and Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) regions, the survey interviewed 1,212 citizens eligible to vote.
