A majority of Georgian citizens agree with the Government’s decision not to join economic sanctions imposed on Russia by the international community following its invasion of Ukraine, a new survey has shown.

Commissioned by Imedi TV channel and carried out by the Georgian Opinion Research Business International, the survey asked its respondents the question: “The Georgian Dream Government did not join the economic sanctions against Russia. Do you agree with the Government's decision or not?”.

Of the surveyed individuals, 65 percent answered Yes, 25 percent called the decision wrong, while 10 percent responded by either saying they were not sure, or refusing to answer.

GORBI surveyed 2,024 respondents across Georgia in face-to-face interviews between November 17-30. The agency said its margin of error for the survey was 2.5 percent.
