Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Wednesday wished the Jewish community of Georgia and internationally “peace, prosperity and progress” on the Passover holiday.

In his congratulatory message, Garibashvili highlighted the importance of this holiday for “all freedom-loving people”.

“To our Jewish compatriots, to our compatriots who returned to the historical homeland Israel, and to the entire Jewish people, I heartily congratulate the beginning of Passover”, Garibashvili said.

This great holiday of the physical and spiritual liberation of the Jews is important for all freedom-loving people, including Georgians, who are connected with Jews by a thousand-year-old brotherhood and friendship. Therefore, together with the citizens of our country, I join your celebration wholeheartedly”, he concluded.

Passover is a major Jewish holiday that commemorates the liberation of Jews from slavery and their exodus from ancient Egypt.
