The Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili wished a happy Passover to the Jewish people on Friday, noting the “precious” friendship between the two nations and their communities.

In his congratulatory message for the Jewish holiday, Garibashvili told the communities the biblical celebration of the exodus of Jews “from slavery, [and their] physical and spiritual liberation” was “symbolic and important” to those who valued freedom.

Congratulations to the Jewish community of Georgia, to our fellows who returned to Israel, their historic homeland, to all the Jewish people on the great holiday of the Passover,” the Prime Minister said.

Together with our fellow citizens, I join you in your festive mood and wish you and your families peace, happiness and prosperity,” Garibashvili concluded.

Passover is a major Jewish holiday that commemorates the liberation of Jews from slavery and their exodus from ancient Egypt.
