The Cybersecurity Bureau of the Ministry of Defence of Georgia has joined the Global Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams, an international organisation bringing together computer incident response professionals from governments, commercial and educational institutions.

The Ministry said on Tuesday the body’s engagement in the platform of more than 600 members would allow the Bureau to improve capabilities of responding to cyber incidents and being “constantly aligned with modern approaches”.

This Forum is a globally recognised platform for sharing best practices in responding to cyber incidents”, it said in its comments.

Known as FIRST, the Forum brings together members from Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe and Oceania in efforts to “foster cooperation and coordination in incident prevention, stimulate rapid reaction to incidents, and promote information sharing among members”.
