Georgian Defence Ministry to offer summer Army Camp to school students

The Georgian Defence Ministry will aim to “raise the patriotic spirit”, promote healthy lifestyle and awareness of the country’s armed forces among the young generations by offering school students a summer Army Camp programme.

Initiated by the Ministry’s Public Relations Department, the project will also involve the Education Ministry and host the Camp with activities for young participants at the Sergeants Academy near the resort town of Kojori, outside the capital Tbilisi.

Students of 9-11 grades will be invited to experience the programme that includes physical activities and classes in first aid provision, topography and navigation.

The Ministry said work was ongoing to prepare the infrastructure at the Academy for those attending the Camp in the coming summer.
