The Georgian Government is “working intensively” with companies from Britain, Germany and other countries based in Ukraine and Russia to relocate their enterprises to Georgia amid the ongoing war in Ukraine, Economy Minister Levan Davitashvili announced on Monday.

The Georgian official said success in the initiative could contribute to the development of sectors, job creation, transfer of competencies and upgrade of qualifications for the Georgian economy.

We are working in a very organised manner with foreign business or government organisations, as well as with international partners [...so that] international companies consider Georgia as a hub for their operations,” Davitashvili said.

The Minister also said the process of negotiations on the relocation of enterprises was more successful in the service sector as the latter “adapts faster to a new reality,” adding work was also underway in various logistics and transport areas to “maximise the country's resources.”
