Ukrainian-language sections to open for students from country in Tbilisi

Ukrainian-language sections will be opened at Tbilisi-based educational venues for students from Ukraine who are having to stay in the capital during the conflict in their home country, Georgia’s Education Ministry announced on Friday.

Based on a decision of Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, the sections will be opened with the involvement of the Embassy of Ukraine and the Georgian Ministry.

Minister Mikheil Chkhenkeli informed Andrei Kasyanov, the Chargé d'affaires of Ukraine in Georgia, about the decision in a meeting at the Education Ministry.

Kasyanov thanked the Government of Georgia and Chkhenkeli for their “great support” of Ukrainians in Georgia in comments following the announcement of the initiative.
