Tbilisi City Assembly Head: “especially important” to support Ukrainian families displaced by war

It is “especially important” to support and assist Ukrainian families displaced by the war, Giorgi Tkemaladze, the Head of Tbilisi City Assembly, said at today’s meeting with parents of Ukrainian students recently enrolled in Georgian schools.

In his comments about the Georgian Government’s assistance programs for Ukrainian nationals since the start of hostilities in their country last month, Tkemaladze said the Government was “trying its best” to create comfortable living conditions for the families stranded in Georgia by the war.

I am sure peace will be restored in Ukraine soon and Ukrainian children returning to their country will have many pleasant memories of Georgia,” Tkemaladze told the families.

The Embassy of Ukraine and the Georgian Ministry of Education will organise the sections for the students.

A total of 215  Ukrainian students have already joined classes in the capital city of Tbilisi and regions of the country.
