Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili and a group of majoritarian MPs of the country's legislative body brought presents to the Ukrainian children enrolled in Georgian public schools on Saturday.

The Georgian Parliament hosted a reception for the kids from Ukraine earlier today. During the reception, Papuashvili addressed the students, their parents and teachers, expressing hope they would spend an “interesting time” in Georgia.

I congratulate you on your enrolment in Georgian schools. Now you are in the parliament building as students. I am sure you will have an opportunity to visit again,” Papuashvili said.

Vice Speaker David Sergeenko also addressed the guests, saying the MPs would try their best to ensure the Ukrainian kids would spend an “unforgettable” time in Georgia.

I genuinely believe that your time in Georgia will be full of positive emotions and new friendships. We will do our best to ensure that the period you spend in Georgia is special and unforgettable,” Sergeenko said.

The Georgian Education Ministry announced last month that the Ukrainian students affected by the ongoing war in their country would be able to enrol in Georgian schools in a simplified manner.
