Andrei Kasyanov, the Representative of the Embassy of Ukraine in Georgia, on Friday expressed his gratitude to citizens and authorities of Georgia for their humanitarian assistance to Ukraine amid the ongoing Russian invasion.
Kasyanov spoke about the importance of the humanitarian packages at a briefing held at the Ukrainian Embassy, pointing out the aid as “one of the most important issues” amid the armed conflict in his country.
Ukraine thanks the entire population of Georgia for this assistance. Thanks to all ordinary citizens of Georgia who were involved in this process, to the Government of Georgia, to the mayors of various cities, to the Patriarchate, for their humanitarian aid in this most necessary and difficult situation,” the Ukrainian diplomat said.
On March 12, the Georgian Parliament handed over a humanitarian aid package to the Red Cross Society for forwarding the cargo to people in Ukraine affected by the war on the weekend.
The aid came in addition to other packages sent since the start of the Russian invasion by state institutions, non-governmental entities, entrepreneurs and citizen groups in Georgia.
