A total of 165,626 international travellers visited Georgia in February 2022, marking a 35.3 percent recovery from the pre-pandemic 2019 figures and an increase of 297 percent compared to 2021, the Georgian National Tourism Administration (GNTA) announced on Friday.
GNTA also said in the reporting period international travel revenue in Georgia had reached $105,218,484 million, noting 62.2 percent of revenue had been recovered since the economic slowdown resulting from pandemic-related restrictions. The new trends marked an increase of $91,568,460 (670.8 percent) compared to the same period of last year.
Overall, 137,148 international tourists visited Georgia in the reporting period, a 55.4 percent recovery compared to 2019 and an increase of 282 percent compared to 2021.
In 2021, a total of 1,881,271 international travellers visited the country, which was an increase of 7.7 percent compared to 2020, while international tourist revenue in the country reached $1,244,941,717 billion.
