Municipal transport in Georgia’s capital Tbilisi will serve passengers free of fare during extended hours of the New Year’s Eve and Orthodox Christmas celebrations, Mayor Kakha Kaladze announced on Friday.
Buses operating in the city, as well as the metro and Rike Park cable cars will be free of charge through 3 am on January 1 and January 7.
In his comments, Kaladze also thanked employees of the Tbilisi Transport Company who will work during the extended hours in serving residents and visitors of the city.
A gala concert on Europe Square and events in a number of locations in the capital will mark the New Year’s Eve on Saturday.
