The State Security Service of Georgia said two foreign individuals, Turkmenistan and Turkey citizens, who had been detained near central Georgia’s Russian-occupied village of Tsinagara by occupation forces, were released on Thursday.

The hotline for information exchange on developments along the occupation line, with the involvement of the European Union Monitoring Mission, has been operated on the incidents, the SSS said.

The state body stressed the occupation forces had been responsible for the “destructive actions” committed in Georgia's occupied territories, as well as in the vicinity of the occupation line.

The service also said the Government continued to “work actively” for securing the release of other Georgian citizens illegally detained both near the central Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) region and occupied Abkhazia in the north-west.
