Russian occupation forces illegally detained a Georgian citizen on Monday, with the incident coming near the administrative line separating the occupied Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) region, the State Security Service confirmed on Monday.

The Georgian national was detained near the village of Perevi in the central Sachkhere municipality of the country.

The state body said it had activated the hotline operated for exchange of information on developments along the administrative line within the European Union Monitoring Mission following the incident.
