Georgian police have arrested six individuals in Tbilisi and other regions of the country on charges of illegal purchase and storage of firearms and ammunition, the Ministry of Internal Affairs said on Sunday.
The Ministry revealed the law enforcement had seized pistols, cartridges, and muzzleloaders, as well as other arms during the personal search and search of residential houses as part of the arrests.
The crime is punishable by three to 11 years in prison.
Georgian law enforcement officers have arrested 62 individuals for drug crimes, including 46 who have been charged with drug trafficking, with the group including both Georgian and foreign citizens.
