Police officers in Tbilisi have arrested an individual following an armed robbery of a Bank of Georgia branch on Pekini Avenue in the central Saburtalo district on Thursday.
The Interior Ministry said the offender had assaulted the branch, appropriated money from a bank employee after threatening the use of a firearm and fled the scene.
Arrested shortly after the incident, the individual is set to face between four to 12 years of imprisonment.
Reports by local media said no one had been injured in the incident.
