Georgia’s Special Investigation Service on Wednesday said the country’s Prosecutor General’s Office had filed charges against a Russian citizen who injured a local reporter by intentionally driving a car into them in an incident last month.
The Service said the violent act had followed an attempt by the reporter to interview the Russian national in central Tbilisi.
In response to the attempt, the latter got into a car, started the engine and drove into the journalist, who sustained minor injuries as a result.
After collecting evidence around the incident, the Service requested further procedures from the Prosecutor's Office, leading to the charges against the assailant.
