Georgian Ambassador to Poland Zurab Beridze on Monday highlighted the country’s “historical” and “customary” support for Georgia in remarks over Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili’s visit to the partner state.

Beridze noted development of bilateral relations between the two countries would be discussed at a meeting of the Georgian and Polish presidents.

Poland, as our partner country, has customarily and historically supported Georgia in the process of European and Euro-Atlantic integration, which is very relevant for us today. I hope this will be confirmed once again at this meeting”, Beridze noted.

Zourabichvili started her visit on Monday, with the Presidential Administration announcing she would meet her Polish counterpart Andrzej Duda as part of the agenda for the official trip.

In the symbolic part of her visit, Zourabichvili will lay a wreath on the grave of Poland’s former President Lech Kaczyński and his wife in Krakow.
