The Azerbaijani capital of Baku celebrated the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with Georgia with a range of events, the Georgian ministry of foreign affairs said on Wednesday.

Azerbaijan’s foreign ministry hosted some of the activities last week, with Georgian ambassador Zurab Pataradze meeting Khalaf Khalafov, Azerbaijan’s deputy foreign minister, during the celebrations.

The officials reviewed the history of the cooperation between the two "friendly and strategic partner countries”, the Georgian foreign office said.

On its part, Georgia’s embassy in the country hosted a diplomatic reception, where Pataradze spoke about the strategic partnership.

The anniversary programme also involved a photo exhibition illustrating the history of diplomatic ties between the two states, and a concert featuring the Georgian state ensemble Erisioni at the Heydar Aliyev Palace in the capital.
