The Georgian national rugby team defeated Uruguay in the first November test match on Sunday at Dinamo Arena in Georgia’s capital city of Tbilisi.

The Lelos, coached by Levan Maisashvili, claimed the victory with the final score 34:18, following three tries by Beka Gorgadze and one from Guram Papidze, Tedo Abzhandadze also contributed with two accurate conversion kicks.

Georgia will participate in the Rugby World Cup competition for the sixth time since 2003, after the national team became the 15th squad to qualify for the 2023 competition that will take place in France, the Georgian Rugby Union announced on Thursday.
Georgia’s national rugby team will face Uruguay, Samoa and Wales in test matches between November 6-19. Matches against Uruguay and Samoa are set to be hosted in Georgia on November 6 and 12, while the fixture against Wales will take place at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on November 19.
