In its last summer test game, Georgia’s national rugby team defeated Portugal on Saturday at Aia Arena in the western Georgian city of Kutaisi.
The close game saw the team coached by Levan Maisashvili claim the victory with the final score 24:14, following two tries by David Niniashvili and Mirian Modebadze, as well as two conversions by Tedo Abzhandadze who also contributed to the score.

With the win, the Lelos took the record against their Portuguese counterparts to 17 wins from 24 games, with three draws and four defeats in the remaining fixtures.
It also follows the national team’s “historic” triumph over Italy last week, which marked the Lelos’ first-ever win against a Tier 1 nation.
