Anti-corruption agency hosts Council of Europe officials in experience-sharing meeting on corruption, abuse of power

The anti-corruption agency of Georgia’s state security service on Thursday held a meeting sharing experience in combating corruption and abuse of power with local officials in the western regions of Guria and Adjara.

The body said representatives of local self-governments and municipalities had been introduced to issues related to corruption in public service, conflict of interest, investigation of  corruption, and ways of combating the problems.

Mustafa Ferati, the head of the economic crime and cooperation division of the Council of Europe and Constantino Grasso, an international expert of corruption and good governance at the CoE, shared their experience with the participants.

The meeting was held within the European Union-CoE Partnership for Good Governance project.
