Mikheil Chkhenkeli, the minister of education and science of Georgia, on Thursday discussed prospects to further strengthen cooperation and praised the “strong strategic partnership” between Georgia and Azerbaijan at a meeting hosted by Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev in Baku, the education ministry said.
Recalling his visit to Georgia earlier this week, Aliyev noted he had discussed ways of “further strengthening” cooperation in directions including education and science with Georgian prime minister Irakli Garibashvili.
For his part, the Georgian official said the “long-standing friendly relationship” between Georgia and Azerbaijan was a “visible example of productive cooperation”.
The partnership between the countries at all levels in the field of education is particularly noteworthy, which contributes to the deepening of bilateral relations", Chkhenkeli said.
Aliyev visited Georgia on Monday for the second time since 2015, holding a face-to-face meeting with the head of the Georgian government.
