The United States will stand with the people of Georgia and for the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity "now, more than ever," said US Ambassador to Georgia Kelly Degnan in her latest video message from Washington, DC.
Ambassador Degnan asserted the US high officials seek a diplomatic solution amid Russia's aggressive actions against Ukraine. However, she stressed the importance of being "prepared for the worst."
We've begun to engage in nonstop diplomacy to improve the stability and security in Europe. This includes working very closely with the Georgian government," the ambassador added.
Ambassador Degnan reaffirmed the US commitment to help Georgia fulfil its Euro-Atlantic aspirations, pointing out the Georgian people had chosen the path for Euro-Atlantic integration.
[The US will] work together for the future Georgians want and deserve: a stable, secure, and prosperous Georgia that is fully integrated into the Euro-Atlantic family of nations," she said.
The US ambassador noted she had finished her scheduled meetings in Washington and will return to Georgia "later this week."
