The United Nations general assembly on Wednesday voted overwhelmingly to condemn Russia's attempts to annex four regions of Ukraine, with Georgia among 143 countries supporting the related resolution.
The resolution calls on the international community not to recognise Russia's annexation claims of Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia and demands the "immediate reversal" of the annexation attempts.
It also welcomes and expresses “strong support” for efforts to de-escalate the conflict through negotiation.
