Georgian, Indian FMs discuss prospects for bilateral ties in Tbilisi

Georgian foreign minister Ilia Darchiashvili on Monday discussed prospects for bilateral cooperation with his Indian counterpart Meenakshi Lekhi in a Tbilisi meeting, the foreign ministry said. 

Special focus was placed on the importance of development of bilateral cooperation in economy, culture, education and humanitarian direction, the body also said.

The officials welcomed the existing partnership in culture and education, with a number of Indian students receiving higher education in Georgian universities. 

After discussing opportunities for strengthening cooperation within international organisations and expressing readiness to ensure further efforts to upgrade ties, Darchiashvili also thanked the Indian minister for her country’s support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
