Two employees of Georgia’s defence ministry claimed a gold and a bronze at the World Armwrestling Championships in France, the state body announced on Thursday.
Levan Berdzenishvili became the world champion in the right-handed 95 kg category, while Luka Mgeladze claimed bronze in the left-handed 86 kg section of the tournament.
The two athletes work in the personal protection division of the military police department and personal protection of the defence minister.
About 400 athletes from 29 countries featured in the competition held in Dieppe, between September 26-October 2.
