The general inspection of the defence ministry, following the complaint of the employee, established the fact of verbal sexual harassment and gender-based discrimination against the mentioned individual, the ministry announced on Thursday.
As a result of the inspection, the general inspection prepared the relevant conclusion and dismissed the person accused of the harassment, but the fact of the non-extension of employment contract on a gender basis was not confirmed.
The defence ministry said the above-mentioned fact represented a “single case”, which was responded to “immediately”, as the ministry has been paying “special attention” to “thoroughly” studying and investigating similar allegations.

Italian Embassy in Tbilisi, along with the Council of Europe (CoE) office in Georgia, hosted a conference to discuss and raise awareness about the means of ending violence against women and girls on March 25.
