Georgia’s UK ambassador: Queen Elizabeth II will remain as “symbol of stability, unity, honour and service to country”

Sophie Katsarava, the Georgian ambassador to the United Kingdom, on Monday said Queen Elizabeth II would remain a symbol of “stability, unity, honour and service to the country”. 

In her remarks, Katsarava highlighted the “special role” of the British Queen, as millions of people around the world expressed their love and respect after her passing.

It's a historic day as today Britain bids farewell to Queen Elizabeth II. Queen Elizabeth's legacy is immense, both for Britain, the Commonwealth and the world. She will remain a symbol of stability, unity, honour, and service to the country. During her 70-year rule, he created an era”, Katsarava said in an interview with Imedi TV. 

In 2016, Katsarava became a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire with an ordination of Queen Elizabeth II for her efforts to enhance Georgia-UK relations. 

For me, this award is a great honour. I rarely talk about this in public, but today is perhaps the day I will allow myself to say that wearing this award means a special responsibility to me”, she concluded.

The funeral service to honour Britain's longest-reigning monarch was underway at Westminster Abbey on Monday.
