Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Monday signed a book of condolences opened at the British Embassy in Tbilisi over the death of Queen Elizabeth II, the longest-reigning monarch in British history, at the age of 96 on Thursday.

On behalf of the Georgian Government, Garibashvili expressed the “most sincere” condolences to the royal family and citizens of the United Kingdom on the passing of the Queen.

We applaud Her Majesty’s outstanding contribution to the United Kingdom, Commonwealth and the whole world. She has created an epoch, leaving examples and legacy of great service to the country, the people and the highest ideals of humanism”, the message of the Georgian PM said.

In a tweet, Garibashvili on Thursday said “her majesty” would be “well-remembered” by “generations ahead” as a leader “respected and adored”.
