Georgian prime minister stresses “key” role of intelligence service on national date

Georgian prime minister Irakli Garibashvili on Monday congratulated employees of the country’s intelligence services on their professional date by stressing the “key element” of their institution in the state security system. 

The head of the government said the role of the national intelligence service had “further increased” on the backdrop of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Georgia needs a strong intelligence service - therefore, I wish you institutional development and progress”, Garibashvili said. 

Pledging the government’s support, the PM told the professionals “I assure you that the activities of each of you for the benefit of the country are important and highly appreciated”, wishing success to both new employees and experienced personnel.
