Georgia’s national basketball team was defeated by Italy in the second round of a match for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 European Qualifiers on Saturday in northern Italy’s city of Brescia.
Italy prevailed against the national team of Georgia, led by the head coach Ilias Zouros, with a score of 91:84. Goga Bitadze scored a double-double, accumulating double-digit totals in points and rebounds, becoming the top scorer for the team. The Georgian team repeated its 2005 record of 11 effective passes.
The previous nine games between the sides saw wins for Italy.
The Georgian team is set to hold its next match of the World Cup with Iceland on November 11.
