A new central square was unveiled on Saturday in Georgia’s western Lanchkhuti Municipality, located in the Guria region, within the framework of the Renewed Regions programme initiated by Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili.
The Government Administration said the project included renovation of 12 buildings located on the main square of the city and rehabilitation of the central park of 13,000 square metres, as well as adjacent areas of the square, sidewalks and parking areas.
The Municipal Development Fund of the Georgian Ministry of Regional Development has been also carrying out rehabilitation works in the Guria region’s municipalities of Ozurgeti and Chokhatauri as part of the program.
The four-year Renewed Regions programme covers 63 municipalities of Georgia, with an approximate cost of ₾500 million (about $177m) in its first stage.
