The aviation worked at a “very high” level and its results are visible, as the spread area of the forest fire in central-western Georgia’s Borjomi municipality, that has been raging since Friday, has decreased “relatively”, Vakhtang Gomelauri, the Interior Minister of Georgia told reporters on Wednesday.

Gomelauri said the localisation of the fire depended on the weather, as helicopters were not able to operate in the wind and also noted the area of the fire has not gone “beyond the red zone” and there has not been any danger of the spread of the fire to the populated area or the Baku–Tbilisi–Ceyhan pipeline.
