Georgia reports 3,590 new cases of coronavirus, weekly positivity rate stands at 7.43%

Georgia has reported 3,590 new cases of coronavirus, 1,955 recoveries and 41 deaths in the past 24 hours. The weekly positivity rate for tested individuals stands at 7.43%.
A total of 41,236 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 24,593 of the 41,263 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 16,643 were PCR tests.
1,821 of 3,567 cases of coronavirus have been recorded in Tbilisi, while the remaining cases were recorded in:
- Adjara – 510 cases
- Imereti – 277 cases
- Kvemo Kartli – 175 cases
- Shida Kartli – 220 cases
- Guria – 141 cases
- Samegrelo – Zemo Svaneti – 161 cases
- Kakheti – 162 cases
- Mtskheta-Mtianeti – 61 cases
- Samtskhe-Javakheti – 35 cases
- Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti – 6 cases
A total of 4,372patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 936 individuals are at clinical hotels, while 55 are under quarantine.
Overall 2,536,824 individuals have received at least one dose of any vaccine in the country so far, while 1,161,155 have been fully vaccinated.
Internal transmission of Covid-19 Omicron variant has already started in Georgia, Head of the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) Amiran Gamkrelidze reported earlier this evening.
Georgia has reported 3,436 new Covid-19 cases, 1,805 recoveries, and 32 deaths in the last 24 hours. The positivity rate for the past 14 days stands at 5.87%. Overall 24,834 remain infected with Covid-19 in Georgia.
Georgian citizens vaccinated with WHO-approved COVID-19 vaccines, as well as foreign citizens, have been granted the right to register their vaccination info, thus enabling use of the Georgia e-Health app.
Georgian health officials have said that it is 'necessary' to administer Covid-19 vaccine booster shots in order to prevent the spread of the new Omicron variant in the country.
Georgia has reported 4,234 new Covid-19 cases, 1,727 recoveries, and 46 deaths in the past 24 hours. The positivity rate for the past 14 days has increased to 6.61%. Overall 28,716 remain infected with coronavirus in Georgia.
