A historical steam locomotive has been restored for display in Georgia's Black Sea port city of Poti in recognition of the historic role of the city in domestic railway transport, the local City Hall announced on Thursday.
The municipal body said the ₾69,590 ($24,858) project for restoring the small railway engine had also involved setting up a pedestal with granite slabs for the machine.

Placed at the square in front of the Poti Railway building, the locomotive will be illuminated at night with a specially arranged lighting.
The restored machine pays homage to the city where the history of railway service in Georgia started in 1871.
