Georgian Foreign Minister hosts farewell meeting with Ukrainian children in seaside Adjara region

Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili on Sunday hosted a farewell meeting for Ukrainian children on vacation in Georgia’s Black Sea region of Adjara with the support of the Georgian Government.

The holiday programme for the visitors was implemented with the cooperation of the Embassy of Georgia to Ukraine and the City Hall of Kyiv and with involvement of the Administration of the Government of Georgia,  with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia covering travel and accommodation costs of the visitors.

At the farewell meeting, the Foreign Minister and Tornike Rijvadze, the Chairman of the Government of Adjara, emphasised the “close friendship” between Ukraine and Georgia and the latter’s strong support for Ukraine amid the ongoing war in the country, the Foreign Office said. 

Darchiashvili noted the Georgian Government was “happy” to host the Ukrainian children, and wished them “vital” peace in their country.

The Georgian Government hosted the Ukrainian children and their parents in Adjara starting on July 21.
