One individual has been arrested for assaulting Georgia's wanted former Prosecutor General and Minister of Justice Zurab Adeishvili in the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv, the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs said earlier today.

The ministry noted the arrested "34-year-old foreigner" was accused of hooliganism (Part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

Convicted by Georgian courts on charges for acts dating back to his time in the United National Movement government, Adeishvili was reportedly hospitalised after being attacked by four individuals on February 7.

The former UNM official fled Georgia following the 2012 parliamentary elections that saw the UNM government replaced by the Georgian Dream.

Having become a citizen of Ukraine, Adeishvili  requested a termination of his Georgian citizenship in March 2021.
