Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Tuesday arrived at the Ashgabat International Airport in the capital of Turkmenistan to launch his official visit to the country.
Garibashvili arrived in the city following his meetings in Tashkent, the Uzbek capital, and was welcomed at the airport by officials, the Government Administration said.
Muhammetgeldi Serdarov, the Minister of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan, and Avtandil Nafetvaridze, the Georgian chargé d’affaires in the country, welcomed the head of the Georgian Government to kick off his visit.
Ilia Darchiashvili, the Foreign Minister of Georgia, expects the first official visit of Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili to Uzbekistan to bring a “new impetus” to the development of relations between the two countries and strengthen their cooperation.
