Up to 600 kg of meat harmful for health was sealed by the National Food Agency following an inspection in Georgia’s capital of Tbilisi, the state body announced on Friday.
Three meat-selling facilities have been ordered to terminate their production due to “critical non-conformities” after nine production locations were inspected, the Agency also said.
Violations of sanitary and hygienic norms, as well as product labelling rules and storage conditions, were revealed by inspectors of the Agency in the process.
Two meat facilities were fined ₾1,000 ($342/€327) following the inspection, while one was issued a fine of ₾5,000 ($1,712/€1,637).
