Hybrid threats and the Russian occupation in the Georgian regions of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) were in focus of a meeting between the NATO Parliamentary Delegation and representatives of the Georgian State Security Service on Wednesday.
Aleksi Batiashvili, the First Deputy Head of the Service, briefed the delegation on the security environment in the country and the “difficult” circumstances created in the Black Sea region as a result of the ongoing war in Ukraine, the SSS said.

Giorgi Sebedashvili, the Director of the Information-Analytical Department of the SSS, was also present at the meeting and briefed the delegation on the security environment in the occupied regions, as well as hybrid threats to security.
The NATO delegation had a meeting with Shalva Papuashvili, the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, on Tuesday to discuss the Russian aggression against Ukraine, NATO-Georgia relations and the bilateral parliamentary dialogue.
