Sergeants of the Georgian Defence Forces on Saturday received congratulations from their senior staff on annual Sergeant Corps Day, with successful graduates of the Academy of Sergeants receiving medals for professionalism.

With military brass from the GDF in attendance, Giorgi Gogochuri, the Chief Sergeant of the Defence Forces, highlighted the “important role" of sergeants and future prospects for the development of the Corps.
Gogochuri and Major General Giorgi Matiashvili, the Chief of the Defence Forces, expressed their gratitude to the sergeants for their “contribution, professionalism and dedication” in building the GDF.
