Georgian Defence Forces have received six armoured vehicles produced locally by the State Military Scientific-Technical Centre ‘Delta’, the Defence Ministry announced on Monday.

The Didgori vehicles - classified as Medevac for their task of medical evacuation from frontlines - were handed over at the grounds of the NATO-Georgia Joint Training and Evaluation Centre, with Minister Juansher Burchuladze and military commanders in attendance.

Burchuladze called the task of equipping the GDF with military equipment of local production “one of the important priorities” for the state body, and pledged to continue the process.

The Ministry also said the new vehicles would be handed over to designated military units in a gradual process.

GDF units received the first armoured vehicles produced by Delta in 2020, with 40 vehicles handed over to the armed forces.
