Roads Department: ‘Traffic restrictions fully lifted on Rikoti Pass after cleaning roads’

Roads Department of the Georgian Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development reports that after cleaning the roads traffic restrictions have been fully lifted on Rikoti Pass, while movement is prohibited for trailers and semi-trailers on the 39-26 kilometre road section of Nakerela Pass due to the heavy snow and ice. Roads Department of the Georgian Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development reports that after cleaning the roads traffic restrictions have been fully lifted on Rikoti Pass, while movement is prohibited for trailers and semi-trailers on the 39-26 kilometre road section of Nakerela Pass due to the heavy snow and ice.

Traffic movement is allowed for all kinds of transport athrough Rikoti Tunnel.

Restrictions on all kinds of vehicles remain in force on the following roads:

  • Koda-Partskhisi-Manglisi-Tsalka-Ninotsminda road (Paravani Pass)
  • Abastumani-Kanobili road
  • Zugdidi-Jvari-Mestia-Lasdili road (km 70-km 186)
  • Trailers, semi-trailers with a capacity of more than 30 seats are prohibited on the first 22 kilometres of the Alpana-Tsageri road, while other types of vehicles are allowed with anti-skid chains. Vehicles with two or more tandem-drive axles are also allowed.
