Georgian representative elected Vice-President of International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies for first time

Natia Loladze, the President of the Georgia Red Cross Society, has been elected the Vice-President of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, marking the first time a Georgian representative will serve in the position, Georgia Red Cross Society announced on Sunday.

The Society called the election a “great honour”, highlighting opportunities the development would bring.

The Georgia Red Cross Society has gained great international recognition and trust. [...]  The Vice-Presidency opens a new window of opportunity, which will further strengthen the work of the world's largest humanitarian organisation in Georgia”, the statement said. 

Loladze, whose candidacy gained support of representatives of 192 countries, said she would do “her best” to support the development and strengthening of Red Cross national societies during her Vice-Presidency.

Loladze joined the Georgia Red Cross Society as a volunteer in 2002.
